Independent Work

Since 2004 I have practiced as an independent Clinical Psychologist.  I am able to offer psychological assessment and treatment of adult and adolescent outpatients with mental health problems, using a cognitive behavioural approach. I am trained in psychometric testing including WAIS-III, WMS-III and I am a registered treatment provider with all major health insurers eg AXA PPP, BUPA etc.

I act as an Expert Witness for criminal, family and civil proceedings: Criminal cases have included reports for both defence and prosecution, pre-sentencing reports, assessments for the parole board. I have given live evidence as an expert witness in the Crown Court on a number of occasions. I have also carried out assessments for the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority. Civil cases have included the assessment of the psychological sequelae of traumatic events, and assessment of mental capacity. Family court cases have included the assessment of parents’ intellectual ability. To date I have completed over 60 reports for the court.

NHS Work

I worked in the National Health Service for over twenty years, up to Consultant level.  In addition to my clinical role, I was the Clinical Director of Rehabilitation Service Leader, Assertive Outreach Service, the Team Coordinator of Community Rehabilitation Team and the Service Leader, Assertive Outreach Service & Rehabilitation Inpatient Units.
