I specialise both in the assessment of children and adults in the context of Family Proceedings; Private Law disputes at work (employment tribunals); Immigration (asylum/refugee cases); Forensic cases (fitness to plead, risk assessment).
I have demonstrated psychological therapeutic skills with supporting a range of individuals from diverse backgrounds, with their needs and requirements, where they were lacking in their ability to lead a fulfilling life.
I have also worked on and managed a number of commissioned projects and consultancy activities whereby she has undertaken assessments with diverse individuals in different contexts, such as the workplace, educational, and legal/criminal institutions (more specifically forensic research with prison populations). These have resulted in the production of practitioner and research based reports. In addition I have a number of publications in peer reviewed journals. I am currently supervising a number of dissertation projects in organisational psychology and forensic psychology.
My specialism is in diversity issues, specifically in gender and ethnicity, and the impact on life-course transitions at home, in the workplace, and in wider society, that can have a detrimental effect on their perceptions of themselves and others, their well-being, identity and coping strategies. I am highly fluent in my written and communication skills. I have undertaken research and psychological assessments with ethnic minority groups in South Asian languages (Punjabi and Hindi/Urdu). I am competent in my clinical assessment skills and to provide her professional psychological opinions on psycho-social factors (stress and anxiety, intelligence and personality, compliance and suggestibility, parent-child attachment, and family-related issues).
I have recently undertaken the BPS registered courses in Introduction in Expert Witness Skills and Report Writing Skills, and I am registered with the Medical Foundation and the Immigration Advisory Service to provide my professional expertise with their cases. I am also undertaking the BPS registered Levels 1-3 Psychometric Testing courses. I have also shadowed and supported an experienced Expert Witness in the compiling of reports in a variety of criminal and civil cases (personality, IQ, suggestibility, compliance, domestic violence, substance and drug abuse, competence to stand trial and risk assessment).
I regularly take instructions from solicitors, case management companies, and schools.
I have experience of assessing a range of intelligence, personality and other problems by psychometric objective assessments and by clinical interview.
