Psychology Direct embarks on year of fundraising fun for Headway

Posted on

Plans to take part in a pancake eating competition, run a half marathon and host a spooky Halloween quiz night are in place for Psychology Directs staff after the company adopted Headway as their Charity of the Year.

Psychology Direct have a national network of over 1,000 psychologists and provide rapid access to highly trained professionals across the UK.

Its national network includes clinical, counselling, neuro, forensic, educational and occupational psychologists, who are able to undertake assessments and treatment for adults and children, using evidence based assessment tools and therapies.

Aaron Banham, Managing Director and Owner of Psychology Direct, said: “We are delighted to announce that we will be officially supporting Headway as our Charity of the Year 2018/19. Our desire to support Headway comes as a result of admiring what they do in supporting those with brain injuries, their relatives and carers.

“As part of our service connecting experienced psychologists and psychiatrists to clients in need, we often work indirectly with those who have suffered these life changing injuries and look forward to raising funds towards Headway’s great cause. Hopefully we’ll also be able to start offering some direct support by getting involved with our local Headway group too!

“Having already held several Headway fundraising events in an informal capacity last year, including a Mince Pie Morning and Hats for Headway Day, the team is already excited for events to come.

“Headway has been really enthusiastic and supportive, offering lots of ideas and advice so we can have some fun and raise as much as possible!”

Anna Kerr, Corporate Partnership Officer at Headway, said: “A brain injury can result in a confusing array of psychological changes. These range from subtle and temporary lapses in ability and behaviour, to a profound and permanent reduction in basic skills and loss of control of emotion and behaviour.

“That is why this partnership with Psychology Direct is so fitting and we are delighted to have been chosen as their Charity of the Year. The fundraising will be invaluable to support our frontline services and help those affected by brain injury across the UK.”
