Full EP service for Local Authority

Helping a Local Authority deliver a professional, efficient and high quality Educational Psychology service to schools, parents and children.

Brief

A Council in Yorkshire was facing challenges in delivering the EP service to their schools that was needed. Like many councils, the shortage of EPs, demand for assessments and timescales presented by the EHPC process led to them seeking support from an expert provider. Serving a large area, the Council needed to meet the needs of 115 schools, all requiring statutory assessments for pupils with SENs.

Action

Given the volume involved, the first priorities were to establish the level of resources needed, then identify and secure Educational Psychologists from our extensive network based in the location with the capacity and right experience to carry out the assessments. This was done quickly and efficiently, with appropriate EPs lined up within days, ready to start carrying out assessments.

A booking and fulfilment service was also devised by our Head of Education to ensure efficiency and clarity for all parties, as well as a structured communications strategy including regular client reviews.

Outcome

With systems quickly set up ready to go, we were able to start handling high volumes of assessments – around 15 per month – with all the accompanying bookings, paperwork and quality checking carried out by us for the Council’s peace of mind.

Due to our well-resourced team we also delivered on additional ad-hoc requirements such as an out of contact assessment for one of their pupils.

Feedback

The awarding of a 15 month contract with Calderdale Council said it all. They have remained absolutely delighted from the outset of the relationship, which is also reflected in the consistently positive feedback given in review meetings.
