Leading provider of psychological services

RehabilitationPsychological

Supporting your clients on their road to recovery

Effective psychological rehabilitation can be instrumental in helping someone with acute or chronic mental or physical issues improve their well-being as well as giving them the ability to gain insight and then adjust to changing circumstances.

For those with catastrophic injuries following an accident, or due to life-long disabilities or mental disorders, life can be challenging. Being unable to work, or do the things they did before can have a major impact on the client, families, relationships and quality of life.

Psychological Rehabilitation can help your client see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Our Psychologists working in rehabilitation will be experienced and skilled professionals in assessing a wide range of emotional, behavioural and mental disorders; including assessing the clients’ situation and goals, impact on their families, and providing diagnosis of conditions such as depression, anxiety and PTSD. Following psychometric assessments, interviews and observations, the Psychologist will lay out a rehabilitation plan in a report, detailing the resources and support needed.

For Case Managers representing clients with complex psychological needs, being able to secure a Psychologist when needed, in your client’s location and with the flexibility to provide continuing care, can be a challenge.

At Psychology Direct we specialise in multi-track cases where clients’ needs are severe and complex, requiring assessment by specialist Psychologists.

This is often an area of confusion. Understanding the difference between a Psychiatrist and a Psychologist can be crucial to securing the right professional for your case.

Psychologists are trained in human and emotional development. They use their extensive knowledge of human emotions, behaviour and mental health to assess the problems being experienced by their clients. Based on their expert assessment; conclusions, recommendations and treatment plans will be presented in a report as required. Psychologists use a range of assessment techniques including psychometric testing as well as varied therapeutic models in order to understand and improve the mental health and psychological well-being of clients.

Psychiatrists are medical doctors and as such are qualified to prescribe medication (such as anti-depressants) or in more extreme cases recommend hospitalisation, to help assess and manage the symptoms being experienced by the person concerned.

In some cases, it may not be immediately clear whether a Psychologist or a Psychiatrist is required. A complex case may even require both. Our extensive register of professionals includes both Psychologists and Psychiatrists, and our knowledgeable client team are on hand to give you the advice you need and supply the right type of professional. If you have any questions at all, just give us a call.

Our Psychological and Psychiatric provision includes neuropsychology, rehabilitation psychology, rehabilitation psychiatry and specialist educational rehabilitation psychology. If your case has some complex and niche elements, we’ll seek out the professional with the right skills to support your client.

At Psychology Direct we work with Solicitors, Case Managers and Insurance companies on challenging, complex cases. We understand the challenges of the client in the centre of your case and the need to find the Psychologist or Psychiatrist with the right areas of experience and knowledge, without delay.

Our extensive register means we’ll be able to find the right professional for your case, ideally within 24 hours, . You can be reassured your dedicated client manager will be on the case as soon as your enquiry comes in, using their in-depth knowledge of our register to secure you the right professional.
